The Federation of Local Authorities in Israel is committed to promoting gender equality and strengthening the status of women across all municipalities and local councils.

One of the Federation’s key goals is to increase women’s representation and leadership in local government—within cities, regional councils, local committees, and public institutions.

To advance this mission, the Federation leads a variety of initiatives aimed at:

  • Reducing violence against women
  • Closing gender and sectorial gaps
  • Empowering women in leadership roles
  • Integrating gender equality into municipal policies and practices

These efforts are supported through seminars, training programs, awareness campaigns, and collaboration with local authorities to embed gender equity at the core of municipal planning and decision-making.
