The Education Division centers on significant core areas concerning aspects of social, cultural, educational and community life of the local authorities’ residents.

The division deals with planning the education system’s budget according to the changing needs, distributing the educational responsibilities between the central and local government, and advancing legislation in collaboration with the different government ministries (education, immigrant absorption, health, senior citizens, culture and sports, etc.).

The division is a partner in promoting policy in each of the core areas through the headquarters’ channels, as well as through the work of the local committees in the Federation of Local Authorities in Israel and the Knesset [Israeli parliament].
