Education & Social Affairs
The Education, Social Services, and Community Division leads the coordination and development of key services that directly impact the well-being of residents in municipalities and local authorities across Israel. These include education, social welfare, cultural enrichment, and community engagement.
Guided by the Federation’s leadership and professional committees, the division works closely with a broad network of stakeholders including—government ministries, Knesset committees, nonprofit organizations, and civil society—to represent and advance the interests of local authorities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Representing local authorities in policy development and legislative processes
- Managing and monitoring public budgets allocated for education and social services
- Initiating and promoting strategic solutions tailored to diverse community needs
- Advocating for clearer division of responsibilities between central and local government
- Collaborating with partners to improve service delivery and equity at the local level
The division plays a central role in strengthening the social fabric of Israeli society by ensuring municipalities have the tools and resources to provide high-quality, responsive services to all residents.
