The Foreign Affairs Division is responsible for ‘importing’ operational initiatives from the international arena to local authorities in Israel. These include finding and obtaining information about international competitions, calls for proposals, initiatives for joint projects, professional conferences and exhibitions around the world. These initiatives create opportunities in a wide range of fields and benefit Israel’s local authorities. As an additional step to promoting the work of the Federation, the division also initiates, plans and establishes delegations of mayors and professionals from local authorities who participate in professional encounters worldwide. Furthermore, we host delegations from municipalities, local authorities and international organizations from around the globe.

The division is responsible for the international Muni World conference that convenes as part of Muni Expo, where relevant issues on the global municipal agenda are discussed. The division also works to connect and assist Jewish communities around the world at all times, including in times of emergency, while providing strong responses to the rise in antisemitism in the Diaspora. Last but not least, the division assists in the Federation’s efforts to promote urban innovation by evaluating case studies and examples of initiatives from around the world.
