The Law, Regulation, and Control Division safeguards the legal and legislative interests of Israel’s local authorities. It plays a central role in shaping laws and regulations that directly affect municipalities by actively participating in legislative processes in the Knesset and other governmental forums.

The division serves as the key liaison between the Federation, the Knesset, and government bodies—ensuring that the voices and needs of local authorities are heard and protected during policy discussions and legislative debates.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drafting and promoting new legislation that supports local governance
  • Representing the Federation in Knesset committees and legal forums
  • Participating in legislative proceedings that affect all municipalities
  • Managing legal actions and ensuring compliance with national regulations

Through its work, the division ensures that local authorities have strong legal representation and a meaningful role in national policymaking.
