The Legal Department deals with legislative processes in the Knesset and other legislative processes that have an impact on local government. In addition, it acts to formulate bills, initiate legislative proceedings, represent the Federation in legal proceedings and join existing procedures that have implications for all local authorities. The Legal Department also handles all aspects of housing, planning and construction, as well as business licensing, and is involved in government decisions relating to the authorities’ affairs in these areas.
